Cecily Legler Strong, born February 8, 1984 is an American actor, comedian as well as a producer, singer, and stand-up comedian. Strong is most well-known for her role as an Saturday Night Live cast member between 2012 until 2022. She's also the longest-tenured female member of the cast in the history of the show. Strong was recruited for SNL while doing improv in The Second City in Chicago and then moved to Los Angeles after she graduated from CalArts. The role she is currently in is star in the Apple TV+ musical comedy show Schmigadoon! (2021-present) that she also co-produces.
She also voiced The Awesomes (2013 to 2015) In addition, she has supporting roles in films such as Ghostbusters and The Meddler. In 2015, she hosted the White House Correspondents' Dinner. Her first book, a memoir called This Will All be Over Soon, was published in 2021.

Early life
Strong was born and was raised in Springfield, Illinois. Strong is the daughter of Penelope and William "Bill" Strong, who worked as an Associated Press bureau chief and at the time of his death, he was running his own company of public relations. Penny Legler Strong is a nurse practitioner who has worked at numerous hospitals in the region. Strong's parents are divorced. Strong loved SNL as a youngster, reenacting sketches with her friend and watching old SNL commercials on VHS. "I had a tape containing the top commercials that I regularly watched. She said that Phil Hartman was the person who inspired her.
